What is the most precious, valuable, commodity that we possess?
FREEDOM. Love it, or lose it.
“Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of hard work and chasing after the wind.” (Proverb) Workaholics often deprive themselves of the fruitage of their “two handfuls of hard work.” They simply have no time or energy left. The lazy, on the other hand, opt for “two handfuls” of rest and squander precious time.
A professional (safe-cracker) once said: “It is a rat-race, this so-called freedom.”
So keep a balanced view of work: Work hard and enjoy the rewards and save your precious time.
In many lands, a consumer-oriented society sends the message that happiness is linked to income level and possessions. But in reality it is not. A simpler lifestyle can bring greater freedom and satisfaction. To prepare for such a change, reduce expenses and save money. Try to lower or eliminate debt. Discuss the need for change with your family members, and seek their support.
There is freedom of owning your own small business, and pleasure that comes from living and working on your own business. Best of all, it brings deep satisfaction.
Remember to keep a balanced view of work!
