Developing Good Leadership in Network Marketing
The only way to get started in Network Marketing is by sponsoring, and it will set the stage for your eventual success in this business. In the long run, high level success is created only by good leadership. Great success in Networking comes only from attracting leaders to your group, developing more leaders from within your group, and polishing your own leadership skills to their highest degree.
To reach successful levels in Networking, you will need to develop a network in the thousands. You can’t sponsor your way there. This can only happen through duplication — through the development of leaders. Only when you have sufficient leadership established in a line will it continue to grow, and build without you.

To get leaders, you need to do it by becoming the best leader yourself. You’ll find your Network duplicating your progress a few steps behind. Winners attract winners. As you become a leader, leaders from other fields will be attracted to joining your Network.
Develop your own leadership skills first. This will come to you naturally as you grow in the business. There is a three–stage process people go through in building Networking. The first thing that takes place is that you begin by being a sponsor. Then you progress to being a trainer. And finally, as you gain experience, you develop into a leader. Yes you will make mistakes, but it will help you to endure in this business. Experience is a great teacher.
An old proverb states: “Where there is no vision, the people go unrestrained.” You need to be a good leader to run this business successfully. So spend time training those you sponsored, help them set goals for themselves, help them to reach those goals, work with them in making presentations, and have practice sessions so that they are comfortable, and they too will become good leaders for you on your team.
Leadership is not standing up at the front of the room making presentations, and then telling your people to go do the job. The shogun in Japan was the hereditary commander of the Japanese army, and exercised absolute rule under the leadership of the emperor. Do you want to be like that? The result will be that your team members in time will refuse to acknowledge your leadership. A good leader needs to demonstrate his leadership abilities, and skills in the Networking business with both the young, and the old alike; inspire his team, and to help them reach their true potential.

Let’s illustrate: When your dog responds to your commands, it is acknowledging that you are in charge. If you as the owner do not establish your position of leadership, your pet may conclude that it is equal or superior to you, and this might affect its behavior. The same is true in Network Marketing.
In team sports, coaches or if you want to call them leaders, teach youths to follow the rules, to be self-disciplined, to exercise leadership, and to deal graciously with both success, and failure. Without leadership, even the best-designed institutions, and strategies will fail. You do not want to fail as a leader. The successful Network leader will know what his distributors want, and then help them get it. He will set an example of leadership of integrity according to his values, and dedication. He will teach, help, encourage, train, love, work with and stand up for his people. When it’s all over, he will wake up, and discover he has a far-reaching organization filled at every level with leaders.
