Avoid Negative Thinking
Negative thinking uses up energy. Most Network Marketing leaders will tell you that having a positive attitude is key to success in the Network Marketing industry. What if you haven’t been as successful as you expected in Networking? Here are a few quick ways to put you in a positive frame of mind:
- Be Positive and Goal Oriented.
Set positive goals for yourself. Replace thoughts of impossibility and failure with visions of possibility and success. Focus on what you’ve accomplished toward your goals and expectations, not on what you haven’t been able to accomplish. Once you have set your priorities, it becomes easier to pick some key goals to accomplish.
- Avoid negative talk.
There is nothing worse for a downer than listening to negative talk. If you catch yourself thinking, “I will never do well with prospecting,” stop that thought in its tracks. Focus on ways to make your prospecting more successful. Negative talk is like cancer; it spreads rapidly. Avoid negative talk and thinking like the plague that it is.
- You are a winner.
“Where there’s a will there’s a way.” Thus runs an old adage, and there seems to be some truth in it. Once we have key goals in mind, we need the willpower—the desire and the determination—to strive to reach them. We may strengthen that determination by contemplating the value of our goals and the rewards that will come to us by reaching them. Be sure to schedule things that you do well each week. Also, remember to do the same with your personal life as well as your business.
- Commend yourself for reaching your goals.
In today’s ungrateful world, we all need to feel appreciated and loved. When we sincerely commend others, we strengthen and uplift them. Our heartfelt praise prompts them to keep on doing their best. So remember to pat yourself on the back and commend yourself for fitting in your workout, making the meeting on time, reaching your goals and doing your prospecting follow-up.
- Seek positive minded friends.
Like most people, you probably agree that good friends are important. Make your attitude a team sport where everyone wins. A good friend brings out the best in you and is always there for you; that is a real friend, so don’t settle for less.
- Don’t get caught up in barriers.
Imagine how you would feel if you entered a footrace and found that you were the only one required to compete in leg irons. Millions of people feel this way today. So think creatively to find your way around and through challenges that threaten to make you quit. You know that your business opportunity is on the road to success, so don’t let any barriers stop you from pressing forward.
